How to fix known errors with the HelpCloud Helpdesk

Updating Microsoft’s .Net Framework to version 4.8+:

Step 1: Open your web browser of choice.

Step 2: In the search bar/URL navigate to the website: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework

Step 3: Press and select the option in purple text with the text ”Recommended” next to it in parentheses.

Step 4: In your downloads folder of the browser launch the .Net Framework v#.## that you downloaded (you can access this with the shortcut Ctrl+J).

Step 5: Follow the steps of the installer to finalize the installation.

Step 6: Reboot your computer, if the issue persists then proceed to the next resolution.

Updating Java:

Step 1: Open your web browser of choice.

Step 2: In the search bar/URL navigate to the website: https://java.com/en/download/

Step 3: Press the option ”Agree and start free download” this will launch the download for the Java data.

Step 4: In your downloads folder of the browser launch Java’s download and run to uninstall it. If it offers to uninstall older java versions, confirm for it to do so (you can access this with the shortcut Ctrl+J).

Step 5: Follow the steps on the install window to confirm the installation of the most recent Java version.

HResult: 0x800736B2:

Step 1: Open ”File Explorer” on windows devices.

Step 2: Navigate to C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\G8Q0YDWA.ZL4\EX5KZLY3.MZ7\manifests

Step 3: Clear the data in the file and the contents of this folder. It should be full of files related to ScreenConnect.

Step 4: Run the HelpCloud Helpdesk. It will reinstall the ScreenConnect data and should resolve this.
