Update Date and Time: Windows 10

Tip: before we get started, verify you have Administrative access or else these settings will not be visible to you.

  1. Right click on the Date and Time in the bottom right hand corner and select “Adjust date/time” from the menu.
  2. A window will open and on the left hand side select “Date and Time”
  3. Then under Change Date and Time click “Change”.
  4. Adjust the date and time to what it should be or according to preference.

Tip: both “Set time automatically” and “Set time zone automatically” may need to be Off to make this change.

If you receive any error, try using time.nist.gov as your time server and then hit the “Update Now” button.

Make sure you select the checkbox saying, “Synchronize with an internet time server and save”.
